Objective
The main objective in Fort is to build the ultimate fort by gathering resources like toys and pizza, recruiting kid cards to expand your deck, and advancing your fort level. Players compete to earn the most victory points through various game elements to win.
On your turn
A player's turn consists of five phases: 1) Clean up your yard by discarding leftover cards. 2) Play a card from your hand, allowing rivals to follow the public action by matching suit. 3) Recruit a new card from the park or a player's yard into your discard pile. 4) Discard played cards and remaining hand into your yard. 5) Draw five new cards from your personal deck.
Scoring
Scoring happens at the end of the game and includes points from the victory point track, fort levels, the macaroni sculpture card if claimed, and unique made-up rule cards obtained during the game.
Game end
The game triggers the final round when any player reaches 25 victory points, any player advances to fort level 5, or the park deck runs out of cards. After finishing the round, scores are tallied.
Tips
Keep an eye on other players' yards to recruit helpful kid cards, manage your pack and stuff limits carefully, and try to secure a made-up rule early to direct your strategy.
