Overview

Gods, Warriors & Beasts is not just a board game — it is a mirror of life itself.

Every player begins as a Beast, driven by instinct and desire, walking the path of experience through trials, virtue, and fate. Along the way, one may ascend to the state of the Warrior — mastering self-discipline and courage — and ultimately, for the few who understand the code, awaken as the God within.

The board represents the journey of the soul. Two paths unfold: one leading toward material gain, the other toward inner purification. Coins reward worldly triumphs, while wisdom removes the vices that bind.

At the heart of the game lies Tile 42: The Philosopher’s Code, where the final sphinx style riddle is revealed — a question that leads to the ultimate glory.

Inspired by ancient philosophy, sacred geometry, and the mysteries of enlightenment, Gods, Warriors & Beasts invites players to see play as ritual, and strategy as reflection. It was not designed to be mass-produced, but preserved as a symbol — a spark for those ready to remember.

Setup

Each player begins as a Beast, receiving seven Vice Bands (representing the seven deadly sins) and a small number of Coins. Tokens are placed at the starting point of the spiral path known as The Tungam.

Turn Sequence

On their turn, a player: 1. Rolls the die and moves their token forward. 2. Draws a card based on the color or symbol of the space landed on, these may include: • Knowledge Cards — general or historical trivia that earn Coins. • Philosophy & Mythology Cards – mythological or philosophical questions that, if answered correctly, remove a Vice Band and earn chi stones. • Natal Cards – symbolic tales connecting to the game’s lore. • Philosopher’s Code Cards – rare riddle questions testing higher understanding. 3. Acts on the result – gaining Coins, losing Vices, or facing special trials depending on the card’s outcome.

Paths to Victory • Material Path: Players collect Coins, seeking wealth and dominance. • Virtuous Path: Players shed all Vice Bands, achieving spiritual balance.

A player may choose either path but cannot master both. The deeper they go into one, the more difficult it becomes to cross into the other.

End of the Game

When a player reaches Tile 42 – The Weighing of the Heart, they face the final Philosopher’s Code Question if they have choosen to remove their vices during the game. A correct answer represents enlightenment, the Mortal ascends, transforming into the God Figure. Players who have choosen to play for coins at this point count up their coins and claim victory, but at this point they reached as far as they can go, they cannot play the riddle and cannot change from the beast figure. The game ends here and victory is determined by what the individual players deem as a personal victory — material or spiritual wealth.

Players can opt to play another lap 84 tiles if they wish.

Theme

Gods, Warriors & Beasts invites players to reflect on their own nature through play, testing wisdom, willpower, and moral insight. It is both a game of choices and a living allegory, revealing two ways to play life itself: the pursuit of gold or the pursuit of light.
