Hallertau

Setting up Hallertau involves giving each player a player board, a field board, and a stable board, along with starting resources like flax, barley, rye, and worker cubes. The main action board is populated with action spaces, and the four card decks (gateway, farmyard, bonus, and points) are shuffled and placed in their designated spots. The community center building is set at the start of each player's track, ready to be pushed forward during the game.

The main objective of Hallertau is to be the player with the most victory points at the end of six rounds. Players act as village chiefs striving to develop and invest in their community. This is achieved by advancing the community center building along a track, fulfilling various card requirements, harvesting crops, breeding and shearing sheep, and collecting jewelry and tools.

Each round consists of several phases. First, players draw cards and manage workers. During the action phase, players place workers on the central board to take actions such as gaining resources, sowing or harvesting crops, breeding sheep, and moving buildings. Players can also fulfill card conditions at any time. Afterward, resources are collected during the income phase, and buildings are advanced.

Scoring happens at the end of the game. Players earn victory points based on how far they have pushed their community center building, which is advanced by turning in goods or jewelry. Points are also awarded for leftover sheep, remaining jewelry, and any completed card objectives. Unplanted fields and leftover resources may also contribute minor point values.

The game automatically ends after the completion of the sixth round. Once all six rounds have been played and all actions and income phases are resolved, players enter the final scoring phase to tally up all points from buildings, sheep, jewelry, and cards to determine the winner.
