Setup
To set up the game, each player places their unique asymmetric pieces on their designated starting positions on the board. Each player also has a set of tokens that they will need to place throughout the game. The game box, featuring vibrant artwork, is placed nearby, and character cards detailing special abilities are laid out for reference.

On your turn
During your turn, you select one of your asymmetric pieces and move it in a straight line. This movement can be forward, backward, or sideways, as far as you wish, but you cannot jump over an opponent's piece. You must stop at the space immediately before an opponent's piece if it is in your path. After moving, you place one of your tokens on the starting space of your move and on every space your piece traversed, up to its final destination.
Scoring
Ichor does not involve a traditional scoring system. Instead, the game is a direct competition to fulfill the objective of placing all tokens. There are no points accumulated; success is determined solely by completing the token placement goal before your opponent.
Game end
The game concludes immediately when one player has successfully placed all of their available tokens onto the game board. That player is then declared the winner of Ichor.
