La Légende du Colibri

La Légende du Colibri ("The Legend of the Hummingbird") is a cooperative dexterity game in which the players represent animals that try to extinguish a massive forest fire.

Players form a two-way bucket brigade trying to get water as well as seeds from the lake at one end of the table to the trees on the opposite end while passing animal cards in the opposite way, from the fire towards the lake.

Seeds and water are represented by beads that the players must pass to their neighbour by carefully holding them on a cardboard paddle representing animal paws. The beads are lost when dropped anywhere but on the trees. Each tree needs a speciic amount of water beads to be extinguished, then a seed might be placed on them to help them grow back.

The player next to the fire must skim through a deck of cards (while also having to place beads on the trees with their paddle) in search of animal cards, which they pass to other players toward the lake. When the card arrives at the lake, it allows the player next to it to take more beads and pass them toward the trees.

The game is timed and uses an app which plays rainforest noises, and some animal cries can be heard, prompting the players to make an action. For example, if the jaguar is heard, the players must freeze into place until the jaguar stops roaring, or they must stand up and sit back down when the hornets buzz.

After two rounds, the players must count the number of seeds they have managed to get to the trees. The more seeds they got, the better their score.
