Le Havre

To set up Le Havre for a two-player game, place the main harbor board in the center and arrange the resource supply stacks around it. Shuffle and sort the three building decks into their designated columns on the board. Set the round marker to round one and give each player a starting supply of coins, coal, and a ship token. Place standard resource markers on their respective spaces along the river.

The main objective in Le Havre is to build a thriving port city by constructing buildings, commissioning ships, and managing vital resources like food, wood, clay, and iron. Players compete to maximize their wealth through smart resource conversion, building ownership, and shipping profits, aiming for the highest total value at game end.

Each round consists of a specific number of turns where players alternate performing actions. At the start of a turn, you advance your ship token along the river, revealing new resources added to the harbor spaces. Your main action is either to collect all resources from one harbor space or to enter and use an available building. You may also buy or sell buildings and construct ships at any time during your turn.

Scoring in Le Havre is calculated at the end of the final round. Players tally the face value of all buildings they own, the point values printed on their ships, and their remaining cash. Any unpaid loans penalize the player's final score. The player with the highest total amount of franc points wins the game.

The game concludes automatically at the end of the fourteenth round. Once the final round's harvest and supply actions are fully resolved, players proceed directly to the final scoring phase to determine the winner.
