Legendary: Realm of Kings is an expansion for the Legendary: A Marvel Deck Building Game core set, so you will need the core set to play. This expansion focuses on the Inhumans and their war involving the Kree and the Shi'ar for royal dominance. Set up the game as usual, but incorporate the new heroes, villains, and schemes from Realm of Kings. Designate an object, like a coin or mini, to represent the 'Throne's Favor'.

On your turn
On your turn, you'll play hero cards from your hand to generate recruit points (to buy new heroes from the HQ) or attack points (to fight villains in the city or the mastermind). Some cards have 'Teleport' which lets you set them aside to add to your next hand as extra cards. 'Abomination' villains gain attack power equal to the attack value of a hero in the HQ, which can fluctuate. 'When Recruited' abilities trigger immediately after a hero is recruited and replaced in the HQ, providing a one-time bonus.
Scoring
Players earn victory points by defeating villains and mastermind tactics. Each defeated card has a victory point value printed on it. The player with the most victory points at the end of the game is declared the winner. Some new hero cards, like Karnak, reward you for defeating villains from the same group, adding strategic depth to your villain choices.
Game end
The game ends when the mastermind is defeated, or if the scheme's 'Evil Wins' condition is met. For example, in 'Devolve with Xerogen Crystals', Evil Wins if three villains per player escape or the villain deck runs out.
