Luthier

To set up Luthier, place the main board featuring the five location sites and the orchestra in the center of the table. Each player receives a personal workbench divided into roughing and finishing sides, along with an initial supply of money, wood, metal, workers, and a starting patron card. Family-specific components, such as starting instruments and goal cards, are distributed based on the chosen player family. The game uses a six-round structure, with specific patron cards and resource tiles made available on the board for each round.

The main objective of Luthier is to accumulate the most prestige by the end of six rounds. Players act as famous luthier families from history, satisfying patron needs by building and repairing instruments of various types and performing musical pieces in the orchestra to establish their legacy.

Each of the six rounds is divided into a planning phase, a resolution phase, and an end-of-round phase. During planning, players assign their workers to various board locations or their personal workbench to gather resources, acquire patrons, and construct or repair instruments. In the resolution phase, actions are resolved in turn order, allowing players to fulfill patron requests, place tokens in the orchestra, and perform musical pieces to earn rewards.

Players earn prestige points throughout the game by fulfilling patron requirements, placing their family tokens in the orchestra, claiming performance slots, and completing secondary patron or instrument requirements. Additional prestige is awarded at the end of the game based on remaining resources, completed patron tracks, and bonus cards.

The game concludes automatically at the end of the sixth round. After the final round's scoring phase is completed, players tally up any remaining endgame bonuses, unfinished patron values, and specific achievements to determine the winner with the highest total prestige.
