The new scarab tiles offer a wide variety of one shot actions. Once acquired, a player can choose on which of his turns he wants to use the action.

During set-up, the new scarab tiles can either replace the ones from the basic game or be shuffled in. The players decide which way they want to play.

The Actions:

  • Play any card, instead of just the left or right most card.

  • When entering a tunnel jump straight to the last discovered tunnel.

  • Disregard the played card, instead move one of your adventurers to your next following adventurer.

  • Disregard the played card and instead use the effect of one of the top Horus cards from the display

  • Disregard the played card and move one of your adventurers to the next treasure tile

Contents: 15 scarab tokens

The rules, step by step

Setup
To set up Luxor with Queenie 2, first remove all the original Horus tiles (those with arrows) from the game. Then, replace them with the four new Queenie 2 tiles, which are green and feature a snake motif. These new tiles will be shuffled into the stack of regular tiles and placed on the board as usual during game setup.
Objective
The objective of Luxor with Queenie 2 remains the same: to collect the most victory points by exploring the tomb, collecting treasures, and reaching the inner chamber. Queenie 2 enhances the gameplay by introducing new strategic options through its unique tile abilities, allowing players to manipulate card play and adventurer movement in novel ways.
On your turn
During your turn, if you have at least one adventurer standing on a Queenie 2 tile, you gain access to a special ability. Each of the four Queenie 2 tiles offers a different ability. For example, one tile allows you to play any card from your hand, not just the outermost ones; another lets you leave an adventurer on its current space to re-activate that space's effect; and a third allows you to discard a card to move an adventurer 1-3 spaces. You can use multiple abilities if you have adventurers on multiple Queenie 2 tiles.
Scoring
Queenie 2 does not introduce any new scoring mechanisms or victory points. All scoring in Luxor, including points for treasures, sarcophagi, and reaching the inner chamber, remains unchanged. The Queenie 2 tiles primarily offer tactical advantages during gameplay, influencing how players manage their hand of cards and move their adventurers to optimize their point-scoring opportunities.
Game end
The game concludes following the standard end-game conditions of Luxor. This typically occurs when a certain number of adventurers have reached the inner chamber of the tomb. After the final scoring, the player who has accumulated the highest total of victory points from treasures, sarcophagi, and other game elements will be declared the winner.
Tips
To maximize your advantage with Queenie 2, strategically position your adventurers on these tiles to unlock their powerful abilities. Consider which ability best suits your current turn's goals, whether it's flexible card play, re-activating a valuable space, or making a precise move. Remember that an ability is only active as long as an adventurer is on its tile, so plan your movements carefully to retain access to desired effects.
