This is the very first Magic: The Gathering expansion to cross over with Dungeons & Dragons!

Dungeons & Dragons: Adventures in the Forgotten Realms takes place, as the name suggests, in the Forgotten Realms, bringing the setting's wealth of lore and characters to Magic. The set is designed to evoke the feeling of D&D. New mechanics include dungeons that you can venture into (including Dungeon of the Mad Mage, Lost Mine of Phandelver, and Tomb of Annihilation), classes that you can level up in (including all twelve classes from the Player's Handbook), and twenty-sided dice. Special showcase frames evoke classic D&D module covers and monster entries. Many of the spells have names like "You're Ambushed on the Road" and "You Come to a River" and offer you a choice of what to do. Even the basic lands have flavor text providing a small adventure hook.

The set contains 281 cards and is sold in draft boosters, set boosters, collector boosters, theme boosters, and bundles. Four preconstructed Commander decks were also released alongside the main set as tie-ins.
