Ninth Edition Core Set was a "Core Set" expansion for Magic: The Gathering.

The expansion featured 350 cards. It also featured randomly inserted premium black-bordered versions of all cards in the set. There were also 9 fixed cards in the Core Game (Starter Set), which made the entire expansion set 359 cards.

Ninth Edition Core Set was sold in 15 Card Booster Packs (Random Cards), 5 Theme Decks, a Fat Pack, and a Core Game (2 Player Starter Set).

The 350 cards available in the Booster Packs included 110 Uncommon, 110 Common, 110 Rare, and 20 Basic Lands.

The Core Game (Starter Set) contained 2 x 33 Card Fixed Preconstructed Starter Decks to play a guided start game. It also included a 14 Fixed Card Advanced Booster Pack. The 14 card advanced booster pack was designed to be added to the two starter decks (7 cards each) to make 2 x 40 card decks for play after playing the guided start game.
