The rules, step by step

Setup
Marco Polo II: In the Service of the Khan expands upon the original game with a new, larger double-sided board. Setup involves organizing the extensive supply of resources—including the new jade currency—along with sigils, contracts, and market offers. Players receive their player boards, character cards, and starting dice and resources.
Objective
The main goal is to accumulate the most victory points by journeying across China, securing valuable contracts, gathering resources, and leveraging the special powers of various historical characters.
On your turn
Each round begins with rolling your dice. On your turn, you allocate dice to different action spaces on the board to gather resources, move along travel paths, and acquire contracts. New rules modify placement requirements, introduce sigil tokens for special abilities, and restrict contract acquisition exclusively to board spaces, increasing competition.
Scoring
Scoring is deeply integrated into the game's new systems. Points are earned through completing contracts, traveling to distant cities, utilizing jade effectively, and meeting end-game bonuses, utilizing an entirely revamped scoring structure.
Game end
The game automatically ends after exactly six rounds, at which point final scoring triggers to determine the winner.
Tips
While newcomers can learn the rules directly from this version, players familiar with the original Marco Polo will need to adapt to tighter travel competition, new resource management with jade, and entirely different strategic pathways.
