On your turn
During each of the three eras, players will perform one of three main actions three times, totaling nine actions per era and 27 over the entire game. The first action involves taking an apprentice from your player board and placing them on the sun side of a House of Life, paying a fish cost based on other apprentices already present. The second action is to move an apprentice to the moon side of a House of Life, again potentially incurring a fish cost, which allows you to specialize and activate actions up to that point in the House of Life. The third action is to take a new action tablet from the column next to the Houses of Life, paying or gaining fish as required, and placing it on your player board for use in the next round, potentially performing an action from that row or below.
Scoring
Scoring occurs at the end of each round, where players score points based on the relative positions of their heart and feather tokens on their respective tracks. Throughout the game, various actions trigger immediate or end-of-round points. Advancing your token on the Great Pyramid or Queen's Pyramid tracks, placing sarcophagi in the Necropolis, carving or erecting sphinxes, gathering papyrus to match combinations of icons, obtaining crafts, moving priestesses, and making offerings at the temple all contribute to your prestige points. Trade contracts completed along the Nile also provide points, with some scoring multiple times.
