Mombasa

The setup of Mombasa involves placing the main game board featuring the map of Africa in the center, alongside respective tracking boards for shares, bookkeeping, and diamond tracks. Each player receives a player board with action slots, a starting hand of action cards, and respective company markers. Trading posts, account books, and goods tiles are organized in their designated supply areas on the main board.

The primary objective in Mombasa is to accumulate the greatest wealth by the end of seven rounds. Players act as influential investors establishing trading posts, advancing on company tracks, acquiring company shares, and upgrading bookkeeping and diamond tracks across the African continent.

Each round is structured into planning, action, and cleanup phases. During planning, players select action cards from their hand and place them face down on their player board slots. In the action phase, players take turns revealing and executing the actions corresponding to their played cards, such as acquiring goods, purchasing expansion cards, moving trading posts, or advancing on tracks.

Scoring happens at the end of the game. Players calculate the total value of their shares in each of the four companies by multiplying their share count by the final value of the company's track. Additional points come from positions on the diamond, bookkeeping, and Mombasa tracks, plus remaining physical coins.

The game concludes automatically after the completion of the seventh round. Following the final round, all players participate in the comprehensive end-of-game scoring procedure to determine the ultimate winner.
