The offensive was planned by Heinz Guderian. The Germans were able to assemble 200 tanks unknown to the Russians, achieved tactical surprise and managed to reach one of its objective, the city of Arnswalde and to save the encircled garrison, but they did not advance much further. (batallion, regiment size units with some companies for the Germans, regiment, and brigade size units for the Russians), one 11 X 17 map.
