Welcome to Outer Planet Panic, the game of archeology in space, where you play an institution that is racing with your opponents to become the first to reverse engineer and activate alien technology. In the distant future man has expanded beyond the stars and has found a galaxy where several advanced civilizations lived. Through initial research, it has been discovered that they created several great advancements, some of which you have found.
You think you know what you need to create the device but now you must search through planets, debris fields, and radioactive areas of space in order to find the components needed to put the devices together. The galactic museum is willing to help, for a price. You can also hire workers to help you or hinder your opponents, buy equipment to make digging and research easier, and be careful because bad luck or good luck can strike at any time in the vast emptiness of space.
You start out by given fund from your sponsors to explore and dig up ancient alien artifacts Depending on your D-12 Dice role. The goal is to collect seven specific items, Research them, activate them and once you have collected 7 of said items you can try to activate the ultimate Device using the cards and take over the galaxy.
Beware, the other players may use spies to Saratoga your items, They or you can dig up gadgets from the space ship salvage yard. Sell items to do more deal making and there are events that can inhibit or help you each cycle. To help you with your mission you can hire freelancers sell items to the research academy.
