Setup

Place the modular board representing Paris districts, with banks, the Arc de Triomphe, building stacks, landmarks, and score tracks. Players receive a private screen, keys, and starting money.

The rules, step by step

Setup
The game is set up using a modular board that represents various districts of Paris, complete with banking areas, the Arc de Triomphe, building stacks, landmarks, bonus tracks, and score trackers. Each player receives a private player screen to hide their money, resources, and keys, which are the main components used to interact with the board.
Objective
Players take on the roles of real estate investors in Paris during the early 1900s. The primary goal is to acquire valuable buildings and landmarks, manage resources and money, earn prestige tokens, and strategically control different districts to accumulate the highest number of victory points by the end of the game.
On your turn
A player's turn consists of two mandatory steps. First, you must draw the top building tile from one of the stacks and place it onto its corresponding numbered plot of land in the correct district. Second, you take one of three actions: place a new key from behind your screen onto a bank or the Arc, or move an existing key from the board to claim a building or landmark by paying its cost in money and resources.
Scoring
Victory points are awarded during endgame area control scoring, where players tally the total value of their buildings in each district to claim top points based on placed victory point tokens. Additional points come from trading prestige tokens at acquired landmarks, progressing along bonus tracks, collecting unique building types, and specific endgame bonus tiles.
Game end
The game triggers its final phase once all the building tiles are completely exhausted, allowing players to claim endgame tiles instead of actions. After the last endgame tile is taken, all players complete the current round, take one final turn, and then proceed to final scoring to determine the winner.
Tips
Timing is crucial since keys placed at the Arc offer flexible movement to any district, while bank keys provide essential funding. Keep an eye on district values and opponents' movements to secure major area control majorities and optimize your resource conversions.
