Paris: La Cité de la Lumière

Set up the game by placing the central street board on the table. Each player takes a set of chimney tokens, cobblestone tiles in their player color, and action tiles. Postcard tiles from both the base game and expansion are set around the board, ready to be activated during the game.

The objective is to decorate Paris by constructing buildings on illuminated cobblestone spaces, connecting them to street lamps, and scoring the most victory points over two distinct phases.

During phase one, players alternate turns either placing a cobblestone tile onto the board or reserving a building tile into their personal reserve. Once all cobblestone tiles are placed, phase two begins. In phase two, players alternate placing buildings from their reserve onto the board or activating optional postcard action tiles.

End-game scoring awards points for buildings adjacent to street lamps, size of contiguous building groups, and bonuses granted by activated postcards. Players also lose points for unused building tiles remaining in their reserve.

The game concludes automatically when neither player has any remaining buildings to place and all eight postcard action tiles have been fully activated and used.
