Pictomania (Second Edition)

Each player receives a personal drawing pad, pencil, set of tip cards, and colored star score tokens. A set of black and orange number and letter cards is divided equally among everyone. Three word cards of the chosen difficulty are placed face up in a card holder visible to all participants so everyone can see the options available for the round.

The main goal of Pictomania is to balance speed and accuracy. Players must rapidly sketch a secret word while simultaneously trying to figure out what everyone else is drawing, earning points through correct guesses, speed bonuses, and having their own artwork understood.

At the start of a round, players secretly draw a combination card showing a letter and a number. This tells them which word from the shared display they need to draw. Players immediately begin sketching on their pads as quickly and recognizably as possible. Once someone finishes, they grab the best remaining tip card. As guesses are made, players place tip cards face down next to drawings to record their answers.

Scoring happens in two phases. First, players check if their guesses were correct, with the fastest correct guessers claiming the highest star tokens. Second, the artist reveals their secret word, and points are awarded based on how many players guessed correctly, while penalties apply if the drawing was too unclear.

The game consists of four complete rounds, with players drawing three new word cards before each round. After the final round, everyone tallies their accumulated star tokens and round bonus points from their pads, and the player with the highest overall score wins.
