Privateers! The Golden Decade is a competitive boardgame for 2 to 5 players that takes the life of 18th Century's piracy on your table. Players will impersonate a pirate sailing the high seas among isles to conquer them all. Pirates will hunt treasures, loot merchants and sell goods to the colonies, avoiding dangerous storms, reefs and shoal-filled waters. They will trade ships for better and bigger ones or improve them with sails, crew and weapons in order to fight each other.

Every pirate starts the game with:

 a standard ship card of 100 doubloons value with: movement of six, basic weapons, one crew man to repair the damaged tokens and empty slots where to put markers of canvas or every other markers in the hold;
 twenty doubloons;
 a command token, that let the pirates do special action during the play;
 a load pawn and a ship pawn (to represent the ship on the board);
 four pirate coves tokens, to put on the national flags when a pirate has conquered that national city.

Sailing around the modules, every player can freely attack the colonial ships, that are moved by the wind, or the other players, to steal doubloons or equipment tokens. The attack start when two ships are on the same tile. Every contender takes his three combat cards, that match the weapon token on his ship (or the basic weapon) and chose secretly one of them. When both the contenders had chosen their card, they flip them at the same time and they compare the two cards to see the result.

At the end of his own turn, each player has to generate one of the six events spinning the Wind Rose and immediately has to perform the related action: Diplomacy, Kraken, Castaway, Buried Treasure, Storm, Colonial Ship.

Once the game ends the scores are assigned to the players according to the following conditions: Retained doubloons; Owned ship; Retained command tokens; Owned cities Equipment tokens, even if damaged The player who has got the highest score is the winner.
