Setup
To set up Propolis, each player receives a player board, meeples, and starting bees. A central display of building cards, flower tile rows, and reserve bee pools are organized within reach. Palaces and special decks are placed aside, ready for action.
Objective
The objective is to gather resources, strategically place and reinforce bees to control rows of flowers, and construct hives and a palace to accumulate the most victory points before the game concludes.
On your turn
Players take turns clockwise, choosing one of several actions: place bees on flower cards to collect resources, reinforce bees for majority control, retrieve bees from the general reserve, trade resources, or spend resources to build hives or a palace. Managing your bee placement is crucial.
Scoring
Scoring happens at the end of the game. Points are awarded based on constructed buildings, specific card bonuses, and remaining resources, calculated at a ratio of one point per five leftover resources per row.
Game end
The game triggers its end condition when any player successfully constructs their tenth building, including their starting hive. The current round is completed so all players have an equal number of turns, followed by final scoring.
