Setup

Players sit opposite each other, place playmats (if available), shuffle the Camp Deck, deal 6 cards to each player, select 3 camps, return the rest to the deck, collect Water Silo and Raiders cards, take 3 Water Discs, place Extra Water Discs between players, shuffle the main deck, and determine the first player by flipping a Water Disc.

The rules, step by step

Setup
Players begin by sitting across from each other. If using the Super Deluxe Edition, each player places a playmat in front of them. The Camp Deck (cards with a specific back) is shuffled, and six cards are dealt to each player. Each player privately selects three camps to keep and returns the remaining three to the top of the Camp Deck. Each player then collects a Water Silo card and a Raiders card, placing them face-up in their designated areas. Three Water Discs are collected by each player and placed in their Water Supply area. The black Extra Water Discs are placed between players as a general supply. The main deck (cards with a different back) is shuffled and placed face-down. Finally, the first player is determined by each player flipping a Water Disc; the player who reveals the water drop symbol goes first. If both or neither show the water drop, they flip again.
Objective
The primary objective of Radlands is to be the first player to successfully destroy all three of your opponent's camps. Players will use various cards and abilities to attack their opponent's camps while simultaneously defending their own. There is no point-based scoring; the game is a direct head-to-head competition to eliminate the opponent's bases.
On your turn
A game of Radlands is played over a series of turns, alternating between players. Each turn consists of three distinct phases: Events, Replenish, and Actions. During the Events phase, any event card in the number one position of the event queue is resolved and then discarded, and other event cards in the queue advance. The Replenish phase involves refilling your Water Supply to three Water Discs (unless it's the first player's very first turn, in which case they start with one water) and drawing one card from the main deck. The Actions phase allows a player to perform any number of actions in any order, any number of times, as long as they can pay the associated costs. These actions include playing a card, drawing a card, junking a card, taking the Water Silo into hand, or using a card's ability.
Scoring
Radlands is not a game that uses a scoring system. The game's objective is purely based on direct conflict and elimination. Players do not accumulate points; instead, the focus is entirely on destroying the opponent's camps. The first player to achieve this objective is declared the winner, regardless of any other factors or resources they might have accumulated during the game.
Game end
The game concludes immediately when one player successfully destroys all three of their opponent's camps. This player is declared the winner. In the rare event that the main draw deck runs out of cards for a second time (after having been reshuffled once), the game ends in a draw, with neither player achieving victory.
Tips
Strategic management of your Water Discs is crucial, as they are the primary resource for playing cards and activating abilities. Pay close attention to the event queue and plan your actions to either mitigate incoming threats or capitalize on opportunities. Understanding the 'ready' state of your cards is key to maximizing their abilities. Remember that damaged camps can still use their abilities, unlike damaged persons. Utilize junking cards for their immediate effects and consider when to take the Water Silo for extra water. Always be aware of your opponent's unprotected camps and people to target effectively.
