The rules, step by step
Setup
Setup begins by laying out the modular forest board. The scientist player deploys their scientists around the board, while the raptor player places the mother raptor and her baby raptors in specific starting areas. Each player takes their faction-specific action deck and keeps their hand hidden from the opponent.

On your turn
Each round, both players simultaneously select one card from their hand and reveal it. The player who played the lower-numbered card gets to use that card's special event ability. The player who played the higher-numbered card receives a number of action points equal to the difference between the two card values, which they use to move, attack, call reinforcements, or activate special abilities.
Scoring
There are no traditional victory points in Raptor. The game is purely objective-based, won instantly upon fulfilling one of the faction-specific success conditions.
Game end
The game ends abruptly the moment a win condition is met: either three babies escape, three babies are captured, all scientists are eliminated, or the mother raptor is successfully stunned.
Tips
