Rebel Princess

To set up a game of Rebel Princess, deal the entire deck of cards evenly among all participating players based on the player count, removing specific low and high values as needed. Each player receives two unique princess tiles, keeps one to use its once-per-round special ability, and discards the other. Additionally, place five round cards face down in a deck, revealing the top one for the current round.

The main objective of the game is to act as legendary princesses trying to avoid receiving unwanted marriage proposals. Over the course of five rounds, players must skillfully manage their hands to dodge taking tricks that contain proposal symbols, as the player with the fewest cumulative proposals at the end of the game wins.

During a turn, the starting player leads by playing any card except a prince unless specific conditions are met. In clockwise order, other players must follow the lead suit by playing a matching card if they have one. If a player is void of the lead suit, they can play any card from their hand. The player who plays the highest-valued card of the lead suit wins the trick, collects the cards into their score pile, and leads the next trick.

At the end of each round, players count all the proposal symbols found on the cards they collected in their score piles. Certain special cards, like the eight of pets or specific round variations, can alter these values by adding heavy penalties or even negative points. These scores are tallied and recorded on a score pad after every round.

The game concludes automatically after the fifth and final round is completely played out. All round scores are summed up, and the player who has accumulated the absolute lowest total number of marriage proposals wins the game. A special exception is the Rebel condition, where collecting all princes and the frog grants a massive negative score.
