Sakura Dice: Bonsai

The Sakura Dice: Bonsai expansion introduces new challenges while preserving the clean and elegant core of the original game.

In this expansion, players cultivate a small bonsai tree while engaging with new elements and rules that deepen the gameplay. The focus shifts to carefully shaping the tree: players must grow branches in a way that maximizes blooming flowers within a limited space, while also managing the swarming of bees.

Bees are no longer fixed on the board—players must create suitable habitats for them. Additionally, hollows formed in the trunk of the bonsai become an important factor, as their value at the end of the game depends on how they were developed.

The pagoda appears as a new gameplay element in this expansion, introducing difficult decisions especially for passive players and opening up fresh tactical possibilities.

Several systems have been reworked:

the Geisha and Daimyo tracks have been renewed the Samurai Yin–Yang tracks gain new functions bonus actions have been removed and replaced by penalty points

Sakura Dice: Bonsai offers a more complex and strategic experience while staying true to the clarity and design philosophy of the base game.
