Salem 1692

To set up Salem 1692, shuffle the town hall cards and give one to each player. Remove the night, conspiracy, and black cat cards from the deck, give each player three cards, and shuffle the conspiracy cards back into the deck with night at the bottom. Finally, create a trial deck of 'not a witch', 'witch', and 'constable' cards according to the rulebook table and distribute them evenly to each player. If you receive a witch card, you are a witch; otherwise, you are a townsfolk.

The main objective depends on your assigned role. If you are a witch, your goal is to eliminate all non-witch players and ensure witches survive. If you are a townsfolk, your goal is to find all the witch cards hidden among the players and eliminate them before the town is overrun.

Each round begins with witches secretly giving the black cat card to any player, putting them at a disadvantage. Play then proceeds clockwise. On your turn, you may either draw two cards from the deck and end your turn, or play any number of cards on other players. Green-border cards produce one-time effects, blue-border cards create continuous effects until removed, and red-border cards contain accusations.

Scoring and progression are tracked through accusations. If you believe someone is a witch, you can accuse them using red-border cards. When a player accumulates seven total accusations, the player who laid the final accusation reveals one of the accused player's trial cards. Revealing a witch card eliminates that player, while revealing an innocent card keeps them in the game until all their trial cards are exposed.

The game concludes under two main conditions: either the townsfolk win as soon as all witch cards have been found and eliminated, or the witches win if at any point only witches remain in the game.
