Saloon Tycoon

To set up the game, each player receives a player board, three gold pieces, and three Tycoon cards. The main game board is placed in the center, and the public mission cards are shuffled and four are revealed. The secret mission cards are also shuffled, and each player draws four, keeping two. A supply of wood blocks and gold pieces (small for one gold, large for five gold) is made available. Each player places their pawn on the '1' income space and the '0' reputation space of the game board. The starting saloon room is placed on each player's board.

The primary objective of Saloon Tycoon is to become the most prestigious saloon owner in the Wild West. This is achieved by accumulating the highest number of reputation points by the end of the game. Players earn reputation through various actions, including building and upgrading rooms, attracting influential citizens, and completing public and secret missions.

Each turn consists of two main phases. First, players collect income based on the number of completed rooms in their saloon. Initially, everyone starts with one income. Second, players choose one of five actions: take two gold from the supply, draw two Tycoon cards, play one Tycoon card to perform its action, build a room by paying its cost in gold and placing wood blocks, or bribe a character (citizen or outlaw) to either attract them to your saloon or send an outlaw to an opponent's saloon.

Reputation points are primarily scored in several ways. Completing rooms earns points, with larger rooms and higher floors often yielding more. Fulfilling public missions (visible to all players) and secret missions (known only to the player) grants points. Additionally, at the end of the game, each citizen present in your saloon is worth five reputation points. Outlaws, however, deduct five points from your score, emphasizing the importance of bribing them away.

The game concludes when the last wood block is taken from the general supply. Once this happens, all remaining players, starting from the player whose turn it is, take one final turn. After everyone has had their last turn, players tally their reputation points from completed missions, citizens in their saloon, and any other bonus points. The player with the highest total reputation points is declared the Saloon Tycoon winner.
