Set & Attack

Volley back and forth with your opponent and score the most points to win.

Set & Attack was voted best 2 or more player game, most innovative mechanic, best rulebook, best card-only game, and took 3rd place overall in the 2022 1-Card PnP Design Contest on BoardGameGeek.

GAMEPLAY After an initial SERVE and RECEIVE, each turn you may SET (pass the ball within your court) or send the ball to the opponent’s court with an ATTACK or SPIKE (strong attack). But be careful – SETS can be misplayed,and SPIKES can be BLOCKED!

For each action you will:

 draw an arrow or other symbol in an empty ball, and
 flip the card. (You may NOT look at the back of the card before flipping) The card is flipped vertically for a SET, RECEIVE or BLOCK, and horizontally for a SERVE, ATTACK, or SPIKE.

You score a point when:

 There are no empty balls in the path of your ATTACK, SPIKE or BLOCK. (Successful ATTACK, SPIKE, or BLOCK)
 There are no empty balls in the path of your opponent's RECEIVE, SET, or BLOCK. (Failed RECEIVE, SET, or BLOCK)

The game ends when there are no empty balls in the back court to serve from.

The BASIC GAME is played with just two actions: RECEIVE & ATTACK.

THE ADVANCED GAME is played with all six actions.
