Silver & Gold

To set up the game, each player takes a marker and a scorecard, placing it in front of them. The treasure cards are shuffled, and four are dealt to each player. Each player then selects two treasure cards to keep and discards the other two back into the treasure card deck, which is then shuffled once more. The top four cards from this deck are turned over and placed in a row in the center of the table. The eight expedition cards are shuffled to form a separate deck and placed next to the treasure cards. Finally, the start player is determined by whoever last searched for buried treasure.

The primary objective of Silver & Gold is to accumulate the highest total score after four rounds of play. Players earn points by strategically crossing off boxes on their treasure cards, completing coin rows on their scorecards, collecting palm trees, and completing treasure cards, all while managing the patterns revealed by the expedition cards.

Each turn consists of three steps. First, the current first player reveals the top expedition card from its deck, placing it on top of previous cards for the round, making only the current pattern visible. Second, all players simultaneously cross off boxes on one of their incomplete treasure cards, matching the revealed pattern. Patterns can be rotated 90 or 180 degrees or mirrored but must be used completely and only once per turn. If a player cannot or chooses not to place a pattern, they cross off a single box on any of their incomplete treasure cards. Crossing off an 'X' symbol requires immediately crossing off another single box. Crossing off a coin symbol allows players to mark a box on their scorecard's coin rows, starting from the top-left. Crossing off a palm tree symbol grants points equal to the number of palm trees currently visible on the four displayed treasure cards, plus one for the marked palm tree. Third, starting with the first player and proceeding clockwise, players who completed a coin row gain points equal to the highest available trophy value on the round card, marking it on their scorecard and crossing off the trophy value on the round card. Players who completed a treasure card place it face-up next to them and take one of the four displayed treasure cards, immediately replacing it with a new card from the deck. The first player then passes to the next player on their left.

At the end of the game, players calculate their total score. Each crossed-off coin on their scorecard earns one point. The trophy values marked on their scorecard from completing coin rows are added together. The total number of palm trees collected throughout the game is added to their score. Each completed treasure card scores the number indicated in its top-left corner. Additionally, seals on completed treasure cards provide bonus points: one or two points for each separate completed treasure card of the same color as the seal. If multiple seals of the same color are present, they all score.

The game concludes after four rounds have been completed. A round ends once seven of the eight expedition cards have been revealed, leaving one face-down. The current round box on the round card is crossed out, and all revealed expedition cards are reshuffled to form a new deck for the next round. After four rounds, all players tally their points as described in the scoring section. The player with the highest total score wins. In the event of a tie, the player with the most completed gray treasure cards wins. If a tie still persists, the tie-breaker proceeds to green, then orange, and finally purple treasure cards.
