"A tame little game about the contents of our closets."

Skeletons is a social party game that gradually coaxes some non-invasive secrets out of the players, and ultimately reveals that we all possess a membership card in the brotherhood and sisterhood of similar embarrassments.

You'll combine cards to form a sentence in order to investigate your friends, then collect points for each “skeleton” you find in the collective closet.

Separate the green deck and the red deck (they have the same colored back) and place them face-down. All players draw 4 cards from each deck.
The player who owns the game goes first. On your turn, choose a green card and a red card from your hand, so the words at the bottom form a sentence (the skeleton). Read the skeleton aloud.
All players (including you!) discard one of their cards face-down in the center of the table, forming a loose pile – the closet. They place a green card (“Shhh”) if the skeleton is true for them. Place a red card (“Nope”) if it is not true for them. Be honest in your choice; the answers are anonymous. After placing a card, draw back up to 8.
When all players have put a card into the closet pile, loosely shuffle it face-down. Dramatically re-read your skeleton sentence and then one-by-one reveal the cards from the closet, saying “Shhh” or “Nope” as appropriate. Only the color of the cards in the closet matters for scoring, not the text at the bottom.
You score a point for each green card in the closet pile and place them in front of you as spoils. (If ALL the cards in the closet are green, you get NO points and they are placed face-down at the bottom of the green deck.) The red cards in the pile are placed face-down underneath the red deck; each of those fails to give you points.
Turns proceed clockwise and the game ends when players have no more secrets left to reveal. The players with the most scored points are the best at snooping out skeletons, and should be regarded with caution.
