Skulk Hollow

Place the double-sided Skulk Hollow map in the table's center. One player acts as the massive Guardian, choosing one of the available characters, taking their board, marker, deck, and drawing a starting hand. The other player acts as the Fox Heroes, selecting one leader, taking their player mat, reference cards, deck, and drawing a starting hand. Place hero and guardian figures in the designated starting areas on the board.

The game is an asymmetric duel. The Fox Heroes aim to defeat the giant Guardian by climbing its body and dealing wounds to disable its abilities and eventually fill all wound spaces. Conversely, the Guardian aims to win either by fulfilling its specific character-driven win condition, such as eliminating a set number of hero units, or by successfully destroying the heroes' leader.

Players alternate taking turns, starting with the Heroes. On your turn, you spend a set number of actions to play cards from your hand for movement, attacks, or special abilities. You can also use previously stored power cubes to execute bonus actions without playing cards. After taking your actions, you clean up by allocating power and drawing back up to your hand limit.

Progress is tracked physically on components using green and red wound tokens. Successful attacks place wounds on specific locations of the Guardian or onto individual hero cards. Once all wound spaces on a target are filled, that location's ability is disabled, or the hero unit is eliminated and removed from the game board.

The game ends instantly when one of the win conditions is met. The hero player triumphs if every wound slot on the Guardian board is covered with wound tokens. The Guardian player wins if they achieve their unique character objective or eliminate the opposing hero leader, provided that leader is not currently protected by being banded with another figure.
