The rules, step by step

Setup
The game board is laid out with wonders at the top, seven selected clans below them, your road and camp sections, and your opponent's player board at the bottom. The wonders are available for construction, and the clans can be used to forge alliances. Your road is where you place cards, and your camp is where you can store cards for future alliances or to use as wild cards.
Objective
The objective of Spirited is to become the most spirited champion of the ancient world. This is achieved by strategically forging great armies (clans), constructing wonders, and managing your road and camp to gain victory points, known as spirits.
On your turn
On your turn, you have four main actions: play a card then scout, just scout (without playing a card), build, or march. Playing a card triggers its effects. Scouting allows you to either take a card from your road into your hand or move a card from your road to your camp. Building lets you construct wonders, and marching allows you to forge alliances with clans.
Scoring
Victory points, referred to as spirits, are primarily gained through the march and build actions. Forging alliances (marching) with clans earns you spirits, and constructing wonders (building) also provides spirits, as indicated on the wonder cards. The player with the highest number of spirits at the end of the game is declared the winner.
Game end
The game progresses as the 'Passing of Time' card is revealed, moving an hourglass symbol along a track. When this hourglass lands on any of the sword symbols, a battle action takes place. The game concludes when the hourglass reaches the final battle symbol. At this point, the final battle effects are resolved on your home province, and the player with the maximum spirits is declared the winner.
Tips
When scouting, consider taking cards into your hand to play them later for their effects, or camping them as face-down wild cards to help form alliances. Be mindful of overrunning clans: if you have three cards of a particular clan type on your road, they will overrun, discarding all cards from your road and camp. Use cards with shield symbols to protect your clans from overrunning. Iconography can be confusing initially, but you can always refer to the in-game help for quick explanations.
