Star Wars: The Deckbuilding Game

To play with the Mandalorians, you must have either the original Star Wars: The Deckbuilding Game base box or the Clone Wars Edition base box, along with the Mandalorian expansion. For a 2-player game, each player selects their chosen faction (e.g., Separatist or Mandalorian) and takes their corresponding starting base card and 10 starting cards (7 resource cards and 3 unit cards). The Galaxy deck is then assembled by combining 30 cards from each player's faction (e.g., 30 Separatist cards and 30 Mandalorian cards) and 30 neutral cards from the chosen base game. For a 3-player game, each player takes one of the three unique starting bases provided in the Mandalorian expansion (Concord Dawn, Dantooine, or Lothal) and their 10 starting cards. The Galaxy deck is divided into three separate decks, each containing 15 cards from each player's faction and 15 neutral cards from the base game, plus 15 neutral cards from the Mandalorian expansion. The Pyke Repulsor Tank card is not shuffled into any deck but is placed in a separate play area for all players to interact with.

In a 2-player game, the primary objective is to be the first player to destroy three of your opponent's bases. In a 3-player game, the objective is to be the first player to destroy five bases. However, there's a crucial condition: at least two of those five destroyed bases must belong to each of your two opponents. This ensures that players cannot focus solely on eliminating one opponent while neglecting the other.

During a player's turn, they draw five cards from their personal deck. They then play cards to generate resources (credits and Force icons), deploy units and ships to attack opponents' bases and units, and acquire new cards from the Galaxy row to improve their deck. The Force track, located in the center of the play area, dictates the turn order and provides special bonuses to the player whose side the Force token is currently on. Players can also use abilities on their cards to manipulate the Force track or activate other effects.

Destroying an opponent's base is the primary way to score and advance towards victory. Each base has a defense value that must be overcome by combat damage. The Force track itself doesn't directly award victory points but grants powerful advantages. The player who controls the Force token at the start of their turn gains a bonus, which can include extra resources, card draws, or combat damage. This makes controlling the Force track a strategic element in the game.

The game concludes immediately when a player successfully meets their victory condition. In a 2-player game, this means destroying three opponent bases. In a 3-player game, it means destroying five bases, with the additional requirement of having destroyed at least two bases from each of their two opponents. There are no tie-breaking rules; if multiple players meet the condition simultaneously, the player whose turn it is wins.
