Stardew Valley: The Board Game

To set up Stardew Valley: The Board Game, lay out the game board and divide the season deck into four rounds representing the four seasons of the year. Each player receives a player board, starting tools, and player pawns. Place various resources, fish tokens, artisan goods, and item decks around the board. Grandpa's four goals and community center bundle cards are randomly selected and placed on their designated spots on the board, establishing the main collaborative objectives for the cooperative playthrough.

The primary objective is entirely cooperative: players work together to fulfill grandpa's four unique goals and completely restore the community center. This requires collecting crops, animal products, fish, foraged goods, and crafting materials, then fulfilling bundle requirements before the final season ends.

During a player's turn, they receive two actions to spend on moving across regions, fishing, watering crops, foraging, mining, or interacting with villagers. Players also flip event cards, resolve farm events, and can utilize item upgrades and tools. Once all players take their turns, the round advances, leading into season changes and community progression.

Stardew Valley is a cooperative game with a binary win or loss condition rather than individual victory points. Success is achieved by completing grandpa's goals and fully rebuilding the community center before the end of the fourth season.

The game concludes at the end of the fourth season. If the players have successfully completed all four of grandpa's goals and finished all required bundles for the community center, the team wins. If the time runs out before achieving these conditions, the players lose.
