Setup

Players each receive a telescope display and a notebook board, with five face-up coordinate cards and a deck available.

The rules, step by step

Setup
Stellar is an exclusive two-player card game set in space. Setup is quick and simple: each player places their telescope display and notebook board in front of them. Five coordinate cards are laid out in a row, with the main deck of cards placed above them. Players hold two cards in their hand as they prepare to explore the universe.
Objective
The main goal of the game is to collect various celestial objects—such as planets, black holes, interstellar dust, and nebulae—and organize them to build the most valuable galactic collection. Players must strategically manage their telescope and notebook boards to score the most points possible.
On your turn
On your turn, you draw two cards into your hand, select one coordinate card from the central row, and choose which one to play. You must play your chosen card into either your telescope or your notebook board. If you play in the telescope, you place it next to a matching celestial object type if possible. Once you finish your turn, the central coordinate row is replenished.
Scoring
Scoring in Stellar relies on a combination of factors. At the end of the game, players count points based on the total number of cards accumulated in their displays, as well as bonus points for long, continuous series of identical celestial objects obtained during play.
Game end
The game concludes automatically after a set number of rounds once the coordinate deck and card supplies are fully exhausted, leading straight into the final point calculation.
Tips
To succeed in Stellar, plan your placements ahead. Balancing what you put in your telescope versus your notebook is crucial because playing cards in matching categories multiplies your scoring potential significantly.
