Setup
To set up Tag Team, players sit across from each other and select two fighters to form their team. Place fighter boards in front of you, set green health markers on the start spaces of each fighter's health track, and place the specified number of purple power cubes above their boards. Place special markers like yellow tokens or concentration tokens as indicated by fighter guides. Each fighter's 10-card deck is formed by taking their unique cards, removing the starting card with a black border and star, and placing the two starting cards in order to form a 2-card fight deck. Shuffle the remaining 18 cards to form a build deck and place it beside your fighter boards.

On your turn

In the build step, players draw the top three cards from their build deck, choose one to secretly add to their fight deck, and discard the other two.
Scoring
Scoring and progression happen through successful combat actions. Attacks deal damage equal to your active fighter's power cubes, reducing the opponent's health track. Special card effects can grant extra power, heal fighters, or trigger unique fighter abilities to gain a tactical advantage.
Game end
The game ends in three ways: when an opponent's fighter is knocked out by reaching the KO space on their health track (you win), when at least one fighter from both teams is knocked out simultaneously (a draw), or when players are unable to draw cards during the build step due to exhausted decks (a draw).
