The rules, step by step

Setup
Tag Team is an auto-battling deck-building game where players select and combine unique asymmetric fighters. Expansions like Arthur's Legacy introduce new fighters that can be played standalone or combined with the base game to create numerous team combinations, each with their own starting cards, boards, and health tracking mechanisms.
Objective
The main goal of Tag Team is to completely knock out the opposing team of fighters by efficiently leveraging your team's unique asymmetric strengths, special abilities, and card synergies.
On your turn
During a turn, players execute actions based on their fighter cards and mechanics. Fighters might generate power cubes, heal, block incoming damage, or launch attacks. Certain fighters use special boards or tokens—such as Merlin's ancient knowledge paths or the Dragon's regenerating scale tokens—to trigger cascading actions and adapt to the flow of battle.
Scoring
The game does not use a traditional point-based scoring system. Progress and success are instead determined by outlasting the opponent, successfully depleting their health, and protecting your own fighters from being knocked out.
Game end
The game concludes as soon as one team's fighters are fully knocked out. Unique mechanics, such as Excalibur's blade breaking upon reaching zero health instead of an immediate knockout, can drastically alter the final moments of the game.
Tips
Pay close attention to risk-and-reward mechanics. For instance, the Green Knight gets stronger as his maximum health decreases, while the Dragon can spend scales for offense or defense. Coordinate your fighters carefully to maximize momentum and disrupt your opponent's strategy.
