Setup

Each player gets 20 huts, 3 temples, and 2 towers; form a communal pile of tiles face down.

The rules, step by step

Setup
To set up the game, each player receives 20 huts, 3 temples, and 2 towers in their chosen color. All remaining tiles are formed into a communal pile, face down, within reach of all players. All tiles will be used during the game.
Objective
The primary objective of Taluva is to achieve an instant victory by being the first player to place all of two out of three building types (huts, temples, or towers).
On your turn
Players take turns in clockwise order. Each turn consists of two main steps: first, placing a new tile, and second, performing one build action. Tiles can be placed on the base level adjacent to any already placed tile, or on a higher level by matching a volcano field with another tile's volcano, ensuring lava flows in different directions and not overlapping a single tile.
Scoring
If all tiles are used and no player has achieved an instant victory, the game ends, and players score their remaining buildings. The player with the most temples wins. If there's a tie in temples, the player with the most towers among the tied players wins. If still tied, the player with the most huts wins. Huts removed from the game still count as being 'placed' for scoring purposes.
Game end
The game ends immediately if a player successfully places all of two building types (e.g., all huts and all temples, or all towers and all huts). This player achieves an instant victory. If a player cannot perform any valid build action on their turn, they are eliminated from the game. The last remaining player wins if all others are eliminated.
Tips
When placing a new tile, you may cover existing huts, removing them from the game, as long as this action does not completely eliminate an entire settlement. Towers and temples cannot be covered by new tiles. When expanding a settlement, you place a number of huts equal to the level of the chosen terrain type. Temples require a settlement of at least three fields, and towers must be built on a field of level 3 or higher.
