Targi

To set up Targi, arrange the 16 action cards around the outside of a 5x5 grid in a specific order, placing the corner raid cards and side caravan, tribal expansion, and noble cards. Shuffle the goods and tribe decks and place them face down in the center, with the top four cards of each deck placed face down in the grid spaces. Give each player three Targi figures, two tribe markers, starting goods (two of each: pepper, salt, dates), one gold coin, and four victory points.

The objective of Targi is to lead your nomadic tribe to victory by carefully managing resources, acquiring valuable tribe cards, and building a 3x4 grid of cards in your display to score the maximum number of victory points by the end of the game.

A round begins with the robber moving to a new border card. Players take turns placing their three Targi figures on unoccupied border spaces. Once all figures are placed, players place their two tribe markers at the imaginary grid intersections where lines from their Targi figures cross. Players then resolve their actions in any order, collecting goods, purchasing or reserving tribe cards, and triggering special abilities.

At game end, players sum their points from victory point chips, the base values printed on all displayed tribe cards, and bonuses from set collection. Completing rows of identical symbols yields 4 points, while rows of different symbols award 2 points. Additional bonuses come from specific card abilities.

The game concludes at the end of the round in which any player completes a full 12-card display (3 rows of 4 cards) or when the robber reaches the final corner raid card on the border.
