Terracotta Army

To set up the Terracotta Army, place the main board centrally with the double-sided clay tokens and coins nearby. Randomly place one dry clay tile on each of the four warehouses around the wheel. Align the three action rings randomly so all symbols are in a row. Draw and place five green scoring tiles face up on the round track, and set the round marker on round one. Position the inspector pawn on the mausoleum starting spaces and place the specialist miniatures on their matching spaces. Organize warrior miniatures by shape in the warrior organizer next to the board. Distribute priority tokens based on player count, give each player three coins and four crossed-out weapon tokens, and hand out player-colored meeples and square frames. Place the scoring marker at zero points and set up the turn order with the random start player token, distributing starting resources according to player turn order.

The main goal of Terracotta Army is to build and position the best collection of statues to guard the emperor's tomb and score the most victory points by the end of five rounds.

Each round consists of action, scoring, and cleanup phases. During your turn, you may pay coins to rotate a wheel, must place a worker on a segment, and then may take actions. These actions include gaining coins or wet clay, soaking clay, upgrading assistants, acquiring priority tokens, readying weapons, placing warriors, and gaining masters. Workers are placed from inside to out, and big meeples block spaces while small ones only use empty segments.

At the end of each round, players score points for inspectors, musicians, and round scoring tiles. Inspectors score based on the number of warriors in specific rows and columns, as well as dominance and presence. Round scoring tiles evaluate different criteria each round, such as line dominance or specific warrior types.

After five rounds, the game ends with final scoring. Players score for footmen based on surrounding spaces, kneeling archers based on opposing controlled warriors, groups of matching warriors, and remaining resources like coins and clay. The player with the most points wins.
