It includes 19 pairs of cards, each featuring a character from Joel Chandler Harris' Uncle Remus stories - Brer Fox, Brer B'ar, Brer Buzzard, Brer Gater, Brer Tarrypin, and so on — as well as a single Brer Rabbit card (the equivalent of the Old Maid).

The cards' modern appeal lies primarily in the beautifully lithographed color illustrations.
