This expansion adds 16 new general cards and counters, as well as field marshal cards and winds of war cards, which introduce new mechanics to the game:

Twilight Generals More Generals! More variety! These Generals will bring more variety to your games. All are generals whose involvement took place at the end of the war, in 1944.

Winds of War What effect might wolf packs have on The Other Side of the Hill? How might Admiral Canaris' activities be represented? Could players have more control over diplomacy rolls? The ten cards in the Winds of War deck add flavor and variability to the game by allowing players to relax some of the rules of the game, whether in combat, strategic warfare, technology projects, the Production phase, and so on. At the beginning of the game, two cards are dealt to each player, who keeps one of them and must discard the other. Each Winds of War card includes the prerequisites that must be met in order to play it. A Winds of War card can be used only once and then must be discarded from the game.

Field Marshals Field Marshals were the highest rank in the German army of World War II. All generals aspired to obtain the coveted field marshal's baton. Field Marshal cards offer this prize to players who conquer key cities in Europe: Warsaw, Paris, Athens, Sevastopol, but also Moscow, Leningrad and Baghdad. This award can also be given for major victories on the battlefield or in Strategic Warfare. In addition to offering flavor and immersion, in terms of gameplay the Field Marshal cards are an alternative method for resolving ties when deciding the winner of the game in competitive mode.
