The rules, step by step

Setup
Each player begins with their own personal deck of 12 starter cards, along with a guild card and a side quest card that provide early goals and bonuses. The main game board is set up with various sections: The Marketplace, The Bazaar, The Guilds' Quarter, The Temple, The Shop of Arcane Wonders, and The Dungeon Rooms, each with specific card piles and tokens. Players also have a character board to track hit points and gear tokens.
Objective
To win Thunderstone Quest, players must accumulate more points than their opponents. These points are derived from a combination of experience point tokens, which are gained by defeating monsters, and victory points provided by certain cards in their deck at the end of the game.
On your turn
At the start of your turn, you draw six fresh cards from your personal deck, assuming your hit points are full. You then choose to take your turn in either the Village or the Dungeon. Each section of the board offers different actions, and you can only pick one per turn. After playing your hand and resolving actions, you discard all played cards, draw a new hand, and the next player takes their turn.
Scoring
Scoring occurs at the end of the game. Players count up their experience point tokens, which are gained primarily from defeating monsters in the dungeon. Additionally, certain cards in a player's deck will have victory points indicated on them, which are added to their total score. The player with the highest combined score from experience tokens and card points wins the game.
Game end
The game concludes when a specific number of key cards (Guardian Keys) are revealed from the dungeon decks. Once the final key card is found, the monster in The Wilderness is flipped over to reveal the final boss card. Each player then draws their normal hand plus an additional six cards, chooses four cards to discard from their total hand, and takes one final turn. During this last turn, players may choose to attack the final boss. After everyone has taken their final turn, players tally their scores to determine the winner.
Tips
In the Village, you can spend gold for gear tokens (iron rations for gold/weapon capacity, lanterns for light, potions for healing), upgrade hero cards at the Guilds' Quarter, heal wounds at The Temple, or buy powerful treasure cards at the Shop of Arcane Wonders. In the Dungeon, you move through dungeon tiles by spending light, fight monsters using attack power from heroes and weapons, and gain rewards like experience points, gear tokens, or treasure cards. Pay attention to monster resistances and special conditions on dungeon tiles. Leveling up heroes is crucial for increasing their skill and attack power. Managing your deck by acquiring powerful cards and destroying weaker ones is key to building an efficient engine for both village actions and dungeon delves.
