Trails of Tucana

To set up Trails of Tucana, every player takes a map sheet and a pencil. The terrain cards are shuffled and placed in a face-down pile, while the objective cards are laid out in a row nearby. Depending on the player count, specific objective cards are selected and used for scoring throughout the session.

The main goal is to build a network of paths across the island to connect matching pairs of villages and reach various landmarks, earning victory points for each successful connection before the game concludes.

During a turn, the active player reveals two terrain cards from the deck. All players simultaneously look at these cards and draw path segments on their personal map sheets, connecting adjacent hexes matching the revealed terrain types. Paths must follow strict adjacency rules and connect naturally across the board.

Points are awarded in several ways: connecting two villages of the same letter symbol, linking paths to special landmarks, and claiming objective cards for being the first to fulfill specific connection milestones.

The game concludes automatically after the terrain deck is exhausted, reshuffled, and exhausted a second time, signalling the final round of scoring.
