The goal of Truché Tango is to move your game piece through the channels in the tiles to reach the opposite corner of the board before the other players. The game is played on a 10x10 grid of truchet tiles with each player playing on one side of the square grid as one of 4 colors: red, blue, orange, or green.

There are 2 phases to the game:

Phase 1: Players lay down tiles to fill all 100 spaces on the game board
Phase 2: Players move game pieces across the board through the white channels in the tiles and use Tango cards to reconfigure the board

Each player has 30 tiles made up of 6 distinct designs (each of the 4 colors has 5 tiles of each design). All channels in the tiles will always connect to another tile's channels no matter how they are rotated or arranged. This type of design is called a truchet tile.

GAMEPLAY: Phase 1: Players lay down tiles to fill the board

At each turn, a player rolls the die once to determine how many tiles they can lay on the board (1-6 moves possible per turn).
Players can lay tiles anywhere on the board. Once a tile is placed on the board, it cannot be moved for the duration of phase 1.
Phase 1 lasts until the entire board is full and all 100 spaces are occupied

Phase 2: Players move game pieces across the board through a white channel and use Tango cards to reconfigure the board

At each turn, a player rolls the die once to determine how many moves they can make (1-6 moves possible per turn) during their turn.
During a turn, a player can make the following moves:
Move their game piece from one tile to another tile, or…
     Draw a tango card

Players can move in any direction at any time through the channels, one tile at a time.
Phase 2 lasts until one player moves their game piece(s) across the board and to the opposite corner.

Tango Cards: Rules for each card below A Tango card is a chance to reconfigure the board, but comes with some risk as not all cards help the player who pulled it.

Rotate any tile: Player rotates any one tile on the board
Swap and two tiles: Player can swap any two tiles on the board
Swap opponent’s tile: Player can swap 2 of any opponent’s tiles on the board
Swap your own tiles: Player can swap any 2 of its own tiles on the board
Place a black or white tile: Player can replace any tile on the board with a solid-colored tile (Black tiles block all paths, White tiles connect all paths)
Opponent swaps tiles: The player whose turn is next can swap any 2 tiles on the board
Opponent takes two turns: Player's turn is over and the next player takes 2 turns in a row
