The objective on Wenora is to survive its bizarre and wondrous fungal jungle, which is full of stickiness, ickiness, and deliriousness. Survival will require you to challenge your instincts and preconceptions about what is beneficial and what is dangerous. Your lifelong attempts to avoid distress and fungal infection may actually work against you, as being assimilated into a hallucinogenic mycelial network of swarming weirdness might be your only hope against a cabal of tentacle terrors and other odd paths to an unsavory demise.

The rules, step by step
Setup
To set up the game for Wenora, first, follow the standard framework rules for setting up the game. Then, take the hallucination cards, shuffle them thoroughly, and stack them face down in the area designated for planet-specific cards. Next, gather all of Wenora's punchboard tokens and place them in the planet-specific token pile. This planet makes frequent use of black blocks, so it's recommended to place them closer to the players for convenience.

On your turn
Wenora's dense fungal jungle introduces unique mechanisms, starting with Spore Clouds. Each time an explorer leaves a node, the dusty coating of fungal spores covering the planet's every surface is disturbed, leaving a spore cloud in your wake. These clouds are represented by a black cube placed on the node. Spore clouds are generated no matter how you leave a node (by movement or special effect). A node is either covered in spore clouds or it isn't, so you never need to add more than one block. Deciding how to navigate the environment becomes more interesting because each time you start your turn on a node with a spore cloud, you gain a distress card. If one explorer leaves a node, they poof a spore cloud in their wake, and any other explorer on that node will gain a distress card at the start of their turn. Spore clouds only trigger distress if you start your turn on a node with a cloud, so moving onto a node with a cloud does not cause you to gain distress. Moving quickly through spore-ridden areas is key to avoiding distress.
Scoring
Once an explorer has accumulated two or more distress, they draw a hallucination card. Hallucinations are powerful warpings of both perception and reality. They last until you have less than two distress, and they impart a confusing mix of both debilitating detriments and helpful understandings. By gaining a hallucination card, you also gain the Fungal Host property. Many effects in the game respond to your having or not having this special designation. Sometimes negative effects will ignore you if you are a Fungal Host, and sometimes powerful actions will make themselves available.
Game end
The game concludes when all the specific objectives for the Wenora scenario have been successfully completed by the explorers, or if all explorers become incapacitated, leading to a loss.
Tips
To survive Wenora, remember that time is a crucial resource; use it wisely. Investigate for discoveries and don't hoard them; instead, grind those trusty toadstools into helpful pastes. Be bold and build the workshop, research hut, and laboratory, as they are very useful. Trust Luna, trust each other, and trust your curiosity. Taking risks is essential in this life-or-death situation, so don't be afraid to touch things—it might just help you survive.
