Vikings: Ascent

King Ragnar Lothbrok is dead! He is survived by his sons, each with competing claims to the throne. In Vikings: Ascent the enemy in front of you is less of a threat than the friend at your back.

On a player's turn they move through the following three phases:

1. Draw: draw up to 8 cards.
2. Recruit: recruit freemen (including: warriors, farmsteaders, and skalds) to their house.
3. Fate: take actions by exerting their freemen and/or playing cards from their hand to increase their bid for the throne. The game ends when a player attains 100 Fate points (victory points)

A player increases (or decreases) fate points during the fate phases of each players' turn. The first to ascend the Wheel of Fate and attains 100 fate points wins the game.
