The rules, step by step

Setup
To set up the solo variant of Welcome to the Dungeon, place four heroes along with their specific equipment cards across four separate rows on the table. Shuffle the twelve monster cards and lay them face-down in a four-by-three grid. Finally, take the bottom-right card from the grid and return it to the box without looking at it, leaving the remaining cards ready for the challenge.
Objective
The main objective of the solo game is to successfully complete three dungeon runs by defeating all four monsters in each round while ensuring all four heroes survive the ordeal without running out of health points.
On your turn
During each round, you reveal the first row of four monster cards. You must defeat all of them to proceed. To do this, you can either discard matching equipment from your heroes to bypass the monsters or have heroes take damage by losing health points equal to or greater than the monster's strength. Once a row is cleared, you flip the next row and continue.
Scoring
Players earn progress toward victory by collecting one success card every time all four heroes successfully survive a full dungeon run of four rows of monsters.
Game end
The game ends in victory once you collect three success cards across three successful runs. Conversely, the game ends in defeat immediately if any hero loses all of their health points.
Tips
Pay close attention to equipment management. Discarded equipment is gone for the entire game, so use items sparingly. Leverage special equipment abilities like Polymorph or Demon Pact strategically when facing tough boss monsters or difficult rows.
