How do you play Wizard?
The main objective of Wizard is to correctly predict (bid) the exact number of tricks you will win in each round. Success is measured by matching your actual tricks won to your predicted bid, rather than simply collecting the most tricks overall.

Setup
Players receive cards that increase each round, and the top card of the remaining deck determines the trump suit.
The rules, step by step
Setup
The game of Wizard uses a special 60-card deck including standard suits, wizards, and jesters. Players are dealt a specific number of cards each round, starting with one and increasing by one each round until all cards are dealt. After dealing, the top card of the remaining deck is flipped to reveal the trump suit for that round. If a wizard is turned up, the dealer chooses the trump suit, and if a jester is turned up, there is no trump suit.
Objective
The main objective of Wizard is to correctly predict (bid) the exact number of tricks you will win in each round. Success is measured by matching your actual tricks won to your predicted bid, rather than simply collecting the most tricks overall.
On your turn
Each round begins with players bidding simultaneously or in turn order on how many tricks they expect to win. Play then proceeds clockwise, with the first player leading a card. Subsequent players must follow the led suit if able. Wizards are powerful cards that always win the trick, while jesters always lose. The trump suit beats all non-trump cards unless a wizard is played.
Scoring
Scoring rewards accuracy. If a player correctly predicts their trick count, they receive 20 points plus 10 points for each trick won. If they miss their bid (either over or under), they lose 10 points for every trick they are off by. Scores are recorded on a score sheet after each round.
Game end
The game continues for a predetermined number of rounds depending on the number of players (e.g., 20 rounds for 3 players, 15 for 4, 12 for 5, and 10 for 6). Once all rounds are completed, the player with the highest cumulative score is declared the winner.
Tips
Effective strategy involves carefully analyzing your hand before bidding, managing your wizards and high trump cards strategically, and keeping track of opponents' bids to ensure you neither take too many nor too few tricks.
