Yellow & Yangtze

Set up the board representing the Asian river region. Seven designated black region tiles mark the starting kingdoms, while the remaining tiles of all colors are placed into the market bag. Each player receives a screen to hide their points and components, five leader tokens of different symbols, and a war marker. Place random marker tiles facedown near the board.

The main goal is to expand your territories, position leaders strategically, and accumulate the highest score. Because final scoring depends on your lowest scoring category, players must balance their point totals across four distinct symbol types rather than focusing on just one.

On your turn, you may perform two actions, which can be different or repeated. Actions include placing a leader on the board, moving an existing leader, placing tiles on the grid, or triggering special market and peasant revolt abilities.

Points are earned during tile placement when a matching leader is present in that kingdom. Additional points come from building pagodas, winning wars, and resolving revolts, all tracked behind your player screen until the final calculation.

The game concludes when a player must draw a tile from the bag to refill the market, but no tiles remain. At this point, the final scoring phase begins.
