如鲠在喉：1940~1942年地中海战役 (A Stick in the Throat: Battle of the Mediterranean 1940-1942)

如鲠在喉 (A Stick in the Throat) is a historical wargame that simulates naval campaigns in the Mediterranean theater of World War II. Players are to step into the position of commanding officers, such as Italian Navy commanders (e.g., Riccardi) or British Royal Navy front-line commanders (Cunningham and Somerville), leading their respective forces in a struggle for the control of the Mediterranean during the 28 months period of intense naval operations, starting from July 1940 (Operation Catapult) and ends in October 1942 (just before Operation Torch).

While the standard ruleset provides a streamlined experience of the operational level naval actions. There are also a range of optional rules that brings additional what-if units extra historical details and fog-of-war rules which can stir up the play and brings additional flavors.

The game includes a 2-turn long learning scenario (covering the 3 major resupply operation of Malta: Harpoon, Vigorous, and Pedestal),3 standard scenario (covering the naval operations during 1940, 41 and 42 respectively), 1 campaign scenario covering the entire 28 month period, and 1 alt-history scenario where Italy has finished its war preparations and enters the war in 1942 into a grand showdown with the reinforced and modernized British Mediterranean Fleet.
